Protective parts development

Which types of vehicles do you make protective parts for ?

AXP Racing provides protective parts for motocross, enduro, and trail motorcycles, as well as for quads and SSVs.

How do you decide which motorcycles need protective gear ?

AXP Racing produces protective parts for nearly all new motocross and enduro models, including 6mm and 8mm skid plates, chain guides, radiator guards, and disc protection.

For trail bikes, development is primarily guided by the model’s popularity and customer demand.

Where do you get the motorcycles to work on and develop products ?

We typically borrow motorcycles from local dealers we work with regularly.

Occasionally, customers lend us their bikes for a few days, allowing us to develop the protective parts they need.

Do you offer custom or individual product development ?

We do not create custom parts for individual customers. All development is done on standard models, with production carried out in series.

That said, if you have a specific request that could potentially be produced in series, please reach out to us through our contact form.

Where can I find directions to assemble my AXP protections ?

Every AXP Racing protective part includes a printed assembly guide, and a tutorial video can be found on our YouTube channel.

How do I know if my protective part is compatible with other accessories ?

By selecting your motorcycle model in our website’s search bar, you can see all compatible AXP Racing protective parts.

To check compatibility with accessories from other brands (like crash bars or center stands), refer to the “Can be installed with…” section on the product page.

Technology and materials

What material is used to make AXP skid plates ?

AXP Racing skid plates are made from HDPE (high-density polyethylene) plastic, with a thickness of 6 or 8 mm.

This plastic is very lightweight yet durable, returning to its original shape after impacts, eliminating vibrations, and significantly reducing impact noise.

It is also 30 to 40% lighter than its aluminum counterpart!

What material is used to make AXP chain guides ?

AXP Racing chain guides are made from UHMW (ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene) plastic, offering high resistance to friction, the perfect material for a protection that is constantly exposed to impacts.

What material is used to make AXP radiator guards ?

We offer three models of radiator guards:

  • StandardMade from 4 mm thick aluminum with a three-point mounting system (two at the front and one on the central beam) for full protection in case of a lateral fall or frontal impact.

  • Hard enduroStructure made from 4 mm thick aluminum, with a 6 mm thick HDPE plate at the front that can be quickly removed to provide additional frontal protection while maintaining optimal airflow.

  • Easy-cleaningFully made from HDPE plastic, with wings that clip on at the front for ultra-fast, tool-free removal.
With or without linkage guard: what should I choose ?

The 6 mm thick HDPE plastic skid plates are specially designed for MX, SX, and soft enduro use, with minimal obstacles. They protect the lower engine, frame, and casings.

The 8 mm thick skid plates, on the other hand, are designed for extreme enduro with significant obstacles. They cover the lower engine, frame, casings, and water pump. The rear extension of the skid plate protects the linkage and frame all the way to the footpegs for optimal protection.
