1. The chain guide: a component under constant strain
Located between the swingarm and the sprocket, the chain guide is under constant friction, vibration, and impact. In enduro, motocross, or on long Adventure rides, this part wears out fast if it isn't reinforced enough. A weakened or broken chain guide can cause the chain to derail, or even lead to more serious damage to the sprocket or swingarm.
2. What makes a good chain guide
To do its job effectively, a high-performance chain guide needs to:
- Resist wear and repeated friction from the chain
- Absorb impacts from rough terrain
- Make maintenance easier, without requiring the chain to be removed every time
- Fit precisely to your bike's original sprocket
At AXP Racing, our chain guides are machined from a 30mm-thick UHMW polyethylene plate, a material that's both lightweight and extremely resistant to abrasion. Their two-piece design allows for simplified installation, without having to remove the chain.
3. Ride without worrying about your drivetrain's reliability
Whether you're heading to a motocross race, an enduro ride, or a long trip, a reliable chain guide ensures a stable, long-lasting drivetrain. This reduces the risk of a breakdown mid-ride, while extending the life of your chain and sprocket.
