The skid plate at a glance:

- Protection for the engine block, exhaust system, linkage and crankcases.
Still made from 8mm HDPE
True to our expertise, this skid plate is made from 8mm-thick high-density polyethylene. This material is 30 to 40% lighter than aluminum and tougher than carbon. It absorbs impacts, significantly reduces impact noise, and returns to its original shape where metal would dent or bend. The result: a skid plate weighing just 3.5kg that slides over obstacles instead of catching on them.
A mounting system anchored to the frame
All of the skid plate’s mounting points are on the KLE500’s frame, avoiding attachments to the engine block that could damage it.
When a skid plate is mounted to the engine, every impact is transmitted directly to the crankcases and their mounting points. Over the miles, this stress can weaken expensive parts that are difficult to repair, especially far from home. By anchoring the skid plate to the frame, which is designed to withstand loads, the impact energy is absorbed by the plastic and the motorcycle’s structure rather than the engine. The skid plate cushions impacts better and your engine stays protected.
Complete protection for vital components
Engine block, exhaust system, linkage and crankcases: the skid plate covers the most exposed parts during your off-road rides. A flying stone, a rock step or a badly judged tree stump will no longer put your mechanics or the rest of your trip, at risk.
Please note: this skid plate is not compatible with a center stand.
This protection will be the perfect companion for your off-road rides.
