Made from 6mm thick polyethylene plastic, it covers the subframe, protects the engine, the water pump and the cases from projections. Contrary to aluminum, HDPE absorbs impacts, does not undergo deformations, does not generate vibrations and is 40% lighter than its equivalent in alloy.
